Rajasthan News: Ongoing station upgradation and renovation work on the North Western Railway (NWR) has disrupted train services on several key routes, including Jaipur-Bikaner. Several trains have been canceled or diverted, with the railway authorities emphasizing that these measures aim to provide passengers with better infrastructure and improved facilities. However, the disruptions have caused temporary inconvenience to travelers.
Jaipur-Bathinda Train Canceled, Passengers Raise Concerns
The Jaipur-Bathinda train has been canceled from November 29 to January 13. Passengers and social organizations have urged the railway to operate the train from nearby stations like Dahar Ka Balaji or Bhattoki Gali to mitigate the impact. Daily commuters, small traders, and workers have expressed difficulties caused by the cancellation.
Impact of Station Upgradation
Several trains have been affected due to the ongoing infrastructure improvement work at key NWR stations, with the Jaipur-Bikaner route being the most impacted. Key examples include:
- Hisar-Ludhiana-Hisar (04743/04744)
- Churu-Ludhiana-Churu (04745/04746)
Both services have been canceled until January 28, 2024.
Effect on Local Business and Employment
The Jaipur-Bathinda train, which connects cities like Bathinda, Sadulpur, Loharu, Surajgarh, Jhunjhunu, and Sikar to Jaipur, is vital for local traders and the workforce. Its cancellation has negatively impacted small businesses and daily wage earners. Railway officials clarified that 46 trips of this train were canceled due to modernization work at Jaipur station.

Captain Shashi Kiran, Chief Public Relations Officer of NWR, stated that the disruptions are part of efforts to modernize and enhance passenger amenities. He urged passengers to cooperate and understand the temporary inconvenience caused by these upgrades.
